On Friday August 25th i went on a car trip from Falkirk to Durness in Scotland...
.
On the Friday night i camped the night at Red Squirrel Campsite.. the weather was bad and the camp site was sodden.
.
Glencoe valley of the weeping.
.
Before it got dark i visited the Glencoe Massacre Memorial site which is located in the village in Upper Carnoch and was sculpted by Macdonald of Aberdeen, 1883, a tapering Celtic cross soaring up from a rugged cairn near the scattering of older cottages above the river.
You can read about the massacre of Glencoe HERE
The next day Saturday was nice and sunny i planned to drive upto and camp that night at Ardelve next to Eilean Donan Castle, on my way to Ardelve i cut across and visted Glenfinnan.
.
View from view point at Glenfinnan.
.
Once at Glenfinnan i climbed upto the view point which is behind the visitors centre, from here you get nice views of the monument at the head of Loch Shiel plus views of Glenfinnan Viaduct made famous in the Harry Potter films.
.
As i was looking around the monument i asked the young man who was checking peoples tickets bought at the visitors centre prior to climbing the monument if he would take a picture of me playing my pipes.
.
After visiting Glenfinnan i made my way to Ardelve i stopped off on the way at the SAS Memorial at Spean Bridge to take a quick snap.
.
At Ardelve which has lovely site i set the tent up and had a bite to eat, with the sun setting i made my way to Carr Brae View point which over looks Eilean Donan Castle to take a few pic
